If you’re interested in buying your next iPhone, you’ll want to know when you can. Until now, the date seems to have been mixed up, and it is the date I am sure, and for good reasons, but a new report claims that it is wrong, all. The next event will be very big, it seems, it will almost certainly include the iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Max, iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max, the three new Apple Watch models and AirPods Pro 2.
August 12 update below. This post was originally published on Tuesday, August 9, 2022.
So, if it’s a little later than the expected date of Tuesday, September 13, that can only be good news for those who can’t wait.
August 12 update. A new report from Bloomberg adds new information about the release of the iPhone 14 series. He claims that Apple has asked its suppliers to build 90 million iPhone 14 units.
This is important because it is the same number that Apple got its suppliers to do last year for the iPhone 13, iPhone 13 mini, iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max.
In other words, Apple is confident that the demand for the next iPhones will be at least equal to that of the current models, especially in the first sales period. To me, this shows another reason why the first release date discussed below is reliable.
For comparison, in previous years, the first industrial target is 75 million. Every year, the total can be 220 million, but the first sales period can be important for the success of the product.
Bloomberg’s Debby Wu said, “Apple Inc has asked suppliers to build at least as many of the next-generation iPhones this year as in 2021, citing affluent customers and declining competition to face the world’s electronic backlash.”
Of course, some of the issues related to industrial products are low enough to cause problems, although it is believed that Apple does not expect these to be as strong in the coming months as in the past.
There is another part of the puzzle. Trusted analyst Ming-Chi Kuo from TFI Securities he said recently He said that no delays are expected for the new iPhones: “Although some investors have been concerned recently that the production and shipment of the iPhone 14 could be affected by the political situation, my latest research shows that in the current situation there is now no impact on the supply chain. for the iPhone 14 model.”
On its own, that doesn’t prove that we should expect an earlier release date, but it’s good news all the same and it shows that things are going smoothly, not to mention in a timely manner. not, to manufacture new iPhones.
In turn, it seems that the next iPhones may be ready in time for release on September 16. a sign earlier than predicted.
So, when is the date?
The new rumor came, in the last few hours, from the established leaker and commentator, Max Weinbach. He tweeted in response to Mark Gurman’s latest comments about Apple’s next conference.
Weinbach claims that Tuesday, Sept. 6, not Sept. 13, will likely be the grand opening.
This change means that the release date will come forward, too. Instead of the predicted date of Friday, September 23, iPhones, Watches and AirPods will be in the hands of customers on Friday, September 16.
My previous post indicated that September 6 is a possible date, but with one major caveat.
Until now, it is expected that Apple will hold this next event itself after the return of some live, in-person events with this year’s WWDC. In this case, September 6 seems impossible, given that Apple needs to transport people to Cupertino the day before, that is, Monday, September 5. This year, this day is Labor Day, the day rest.
What has changed?
However, according to Mark Gurman in his latest Power On Newsletter, Apple has now started recording its next flagship, with the good production values that we are used to. Also, this means that there will be no live event, thus eliminating the problem of flying around the world during the holidays.
Are you sure?
I’m glad you asked. In fact, I doubt that there will be a human presence. These are Apple’s biggest products of the year, all revealed on the same day. Personally, I don’t think the pre-recorded keynote means there won’t be anyone out there to get their hands on the new instrument.
After all, WWDC’s hybrid conference format—a record played live to a small number of developers and clickers who had the chance to test the new MacBook Air and 13-inch MacBook Pro—worked wonderfully.
So, what does that mean?
Here’s my guess. Either Tuesday, September 13th and Friday, September 23rd are still on the right schedule, or things will move forward by about a week, to the week starting Monday, September 5th.
That means either Tuesday, September 6 or Wednesday, September 7 to be revealed. In any case, the sale date will be Friday, September 16.
If it’s the first week, my money is on Wednesday, September 7th as it diverts the problem of airline workers and holiday workers.
Why would Apple want to date?
Good talk. After that, she chose Tuesday near the middle of September for most of the major events she has revealed in recent years, except for the special year of Covid-2020.
But the September 16 date gives Apple a full extra week of sales in the quarter that ends on September 30. This is a definite benefit to Apple’s finances.
Anything else we can predict?
If Weinbach is right, then there’s one thing we can bank on for sure: the rumors of a delay for the iPhone 14 Max are definitely unfounded. It is still possible that the special event could announce four iPhones but he said that one or two are coming later, although I think this is unlikely.
So far, there are no reports to confirm Weinbach, and even if he says it’s not 100% sure, it’s interesting.
