Durham Regional Police are seeking to speak to witnesses after a man was seriously injured following a shooting in Oshawa on Sunday night.

At around 11:50 p.m., police said, officers were dispatched to the Whiskey John’s restaurant at the intersection of King Street West and Thornton Road South for a report of an armed person inside the establishment.

Police said they located a man with gunshot wounds at the scene.

The victim was taken to a trauma center with serious, but not life-threatening injuries.

His age has not been disclosed.

Police said no suspicious information was available and investigators were looking to speak to witnesses who may have been in the area at the time.

Additionally, anyone with video of the incident on their cell phone or dash cam is asked to come forward.
