The name of a man who died at a charity boxing event in Norwich.

Jules Bevis, aged 50, died during an event at the World Wrestling Association (WAW) Academy and Exhibition Center in Diamond Road just before 3.50pm on Sunday (October 2).

The event was a fundraiser for four-year-old city girl Kayla Battle, who is battling neuroblastoma cancer.

Tributes to Mr Bevis have been shared on social media since his death.

Saraya, who previously wrestled for WWE under the ring name Paige, was Mr Bevis’ cousin and paid tribute to him on Twitter.

He said: “Now going back to my family in the UK.

“My uncle Jules passed away, I would be forever grateful if you could send my dad mountains of love.

“Love you Julian, thank you for being a part of my positive memories.”

Celebration Cars and Events, a Norwich-based business, paid tribute to Mr Bevis on Facebook.

The post read: “If you’ve ever had the pleasure of Jules as your driver, you’ll know what a gracious gentleman he was.

“Jules, you gave the best hug and will be missed by all, it won’t be the same here without you.”

The area was cordoned off while the death was investigated.

The death is currently being treated as unexplained.

Anyone who may have witnessed the incident and has not spoken to officers is urged to call Norfolk Constabulary on 101 quoting incident 288 of October 2.
