Hubballi: Union Minister Pralhad Joshi he said on Monday that a change of heart from bureaucrats and investors was needed. There is scope for establishment of industries beyond Bangalore.
Addressing a gathering after inaugurating the Beyond Bengaluru industrial conference held here on Monday as a prelude to the Bangalore Tech Summit, he said there is a need to create awareness about the fact that there is scope for setting up industries beyond Bengaluru.
“To make India a 32 trillion economy by 2047 we should start thinking in this direction, even second-tier cities should start working keeping in mind the 32 trillion target,” he said.
Hubballi-Delhi flight
Pralhad Joshi announced that Hubballi will soon have a regular flight to Delhi.
The minister said that there were some agenda issues to start this service and today he discussed it with the affected officials. He said he will call a meeting soon and resolve the issue.
He said the Center is committed to the overall development of the state’s second-tier cities and asked investors to invest in Hubballi-Dharwad as it has excellent climate, good law and order, better infrastructure and better connectivity.
Former CM Jagadish Shettar, appealed to Joshi to announce the schemes that can be done and not make statements just for publicity.
Shettar asked how is it possible to establish an international airport without passengers? Has a location been identified? Did the government do any inspections?
A global emerging technology design center will be set up at a cost of Rs 150 crore in Belagavi.
Talks will soon be held with the CM to develop special investment zones at a fast pace with the aim of developing industries across the state, said Minister Dr CN Ashwathanarayan.
